Brodl to spend one year at NSF

For the next academic year, Mark Brodl will be on leave serving as a Program Director for the Physiological and Structural Systems Cluster of the Division of Integrative Organismal Systems Program in the Biology Directorate of the National Science Foundation (NSF).  As Program Director, Mark invites leading scientists from around the world to serve on scientific review panels and based on their deliberations makes funding recommendations on grant proposals submitted to this NSF program from the larger scientific community.  He reviews the progress of grant awardees through written reports and site visits.  He is also responsible for representing NSF at targeted professional scientific meetings.
