New REU program in Computer Science

The National Science Foundation awarded a grant of $67,818 to Dr. Yu Zhang to establish a Research Experiences for Undergraduates Site. Students from Trinity and campuses across the country will gather in San Antonio for each of the next three summers to design Multi-Agent Simulations of Social Systems. Drs. Christine Drennon and Mark Lewis will co-direct the program which brings together research questions in Computer Science, Sociology, Geography and Urban Studies. One of the social problems to be simulated is the expanding mortgage foreclosure crisis in the U.S.
