HHMI renews Trinity grant for science education & outreach

Trinity was among 48 liberal arts colleges to receive a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute this year.  Trinity’s HHMI program, under the direction of Dr. Mark Brodl, will receive $1.5 million to support summer undergraduate research, as well as two new faculty lines.  Trinity’s HHMI program will expand its involvement with San Antonio middle schools, inviting students and teachers to campus science events several times each year. The grant will also allow faculty to broaden Trinity’s science course offerings for students not majoring in science.
